Do I have to join to shop?

No. We are open to the public and welcome all who wish to shop or browse.

Why is joining the co-op so important?

Your membership fee will assist us in supporting organic and biodynamic agriculture and in meeting your needs as a health-conscious shopper. You allow us to enhance our support of the surrounding community, to better educate our shoppers and members. As part of the Hungry Hollow Co-op you can become as involved as your schedule allows, or you can contribute by making this your store, letting us know what you would like to see on the shelves, telling your friends about the Co-op and attending the Annual Meetings to share your ideas and cast your vote.

Membership Details

All members pay a one time, non-refundable fee of $100.00

Members who choose to have a working component in exchange for a discount on shelf purchases have two possibilities: A household, which can include up to three adults and their children, is asked to contribute 3 hours every 4 weeks. An individual, either one person or a single parent, is asked to contribute 2 hours every 4 weeks.

A student (whose work requirement will depend upon whether he or she is an individual or part of a household) may pay $20.00 per year until the $100.00 is paid in full.

Membership Benefits

-Eligibility to participate in committee and development work
-Right to vote on all board elections and by-law amendments.
-Ability to be nominated to the board.
-Check overwriting privileges up to $40.00.
-An additional 10% off full case orders.
-Members who chose to include a working component are entitled to a 10% discount on shelf prices provided the commitment has been met.
