Housewares
When we started planning our new housewares department, our intention was to compliment the quality, beauty and artistry of the food we sell. Reflecting the devotion of the small farmer, the care for the land, plants and animals, we have discovered artistic and practical utensils, cookware and serving pieces, many of them hand made. Our pottery from Colombia is created from river clay by native artisans. It is not only beautiful to serve in, it is oven safe at very high temperatures and can even be used in the microwave. We have recently acquired a line of recycled glassware from Green Glass that reuses the complete bottle, without melting down the original shape. The company won the highest environmental business award in Europe in 2004.
Wooden serving utensils, cheese graters, dishtowels and potholders are just a few of the practical tools sold in this department.
